Jet Aviation signs a MoU with Vnukovo Invest to expand Moscow operations
October 14, 2008
During this year’s JetExpo exhibition in Moscow, Jet Aviation announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vnukovo Invest, coowner of Vnukovo International Airport, to form a joint venture in late 2008. The joint venture will significantly expand Jet Aviation Vnukovo’s operation in 2009, when the company moves into a new 3,050 sq m (32,827 sq ft) maintenance hangar at a prime location close to the Moscow Vnukovo-3 FBO. The threefold hangar space, compared with the current square footage, will allow Jet Aviation to expand its overall technical maintenance capabilities and to support other OEMs and their clients in the near future. This partnership will also allow Jet Aviation and Vnukovo Invest to better service local and transient customers in the fast growing Moscow market. Currently Jet Aviation is providing business aircraft technical maintenance services at Vnukovo airport in a 1,000 sq m (10,763 sq ft) dedicated hangar space at Vnukovo-3. The company is authorized to support Bombardier and Gulfstream products in Vnukovo. “We are delighted that Jet Aviation has brought its extensive know-how and experience in business aviation technical services to Vnukovo International Airport,” says Vitaly Vantsev, Chairman of the Board "Vnukovo Invest" and adds, “this partnership is for us a great opportunity to further develop our full scale FBO services at Vnukovo 3.” “This is an important step for us in fully launching our Moscow operation and to better serve the demanding Russian clientele with our local partner Vnukovo Invest,” says André Wall, Jet Aviation’s COO EMEA & Asia and adds, “Vnukovo International Airport is a prime location for us as it is close to the Moscow city center and has a high concentration of business aircraft operators.” Jet Aviation Vnukovo currently provides technical maintenance services, including line maintenance, defect rectification and AOG services, at Vnukovo International Airport, one of the largest air transportation hubs in Russia and with only 28 km the one closest to the Moscow city center. The company is already a line maintenance and AOG facility for Bombardier Challenger and Global business jet models as well as an authorized warranty line service facility for the full line of Gulfstream jets. Based on a consignment agreement, Jet Aviation will receive spare parts from Gulfstream and manage the respective inventory for the Russian market. Located next to the Vnukovo 3 FBO, the facility currently holds maintenance approvals from Aruba DCA and EASA #DE.145.0011. |
