November 25, 2008
Jet Aviation Basel recently completed its 3,300 sq m (35,520 sq ft) hangar 1A extension. By adding the new hangar, the facility can now better accommodate its Dassault Falcon completions line. In November 2008, Jet Aviation Basel celebrated the opening of its CHF 6 million hangar 1A extension. The construction was completed in only 7 months from start to finish. Located at the tip of the hangar row at Jet Aviation Basel, the extension 1A, together with the adjacent hangar 1, can now accommodate the entire Dassault Falcon completions. Jet Aviation’s Dassault Falcon aircraft completions include Dassault Falcon F2000, F900 and F7X. “This hangar extension will not only help us to increase production, but we will also be able to raise the number of Dassault Falcon aircraft completions in the future,” says André Wall, COO EMEA & Asia, and adds, “the additional hangar will also free up space to expand our maintenance capacity in our other hangars.” Jet Aviation Basel is a world-renowned completions center and will employ more than 2,000 professionals by year end. Together with the new hangar 1A extension Jet Aviation Basel’s total space amounts to 81,300 sq m (875’083 sq ft). The facility has in-house design and engineering departments, along with on-site cabinetry, upholstery, fiberglass and paint shops and is capable of outfitting jets as large as an Airbus A380 or the Boeing 747-400 series and has already completed several Airbus 319ACJ, A320 and Boeing B737, B757, B767 and B747-400 aircraft. Jet Aviation Basel also provides aircraft maintenance and repair services to a wide variety of business jets. It is a factory approved service center by Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, and Gulfstream. The location also holds a jet aircraft repair station rating by the FAA #QV1Y440K, and the EASA #CH.145.0232 in addition to approval certificates of 21 other national aviation authorities. |
