Jet Aviation acquires Savannah Air Center

January 31, 2008

The Swiss-based Jet Aviation Group, one of the leading business aviation services companies in the world, has completed the acquisition of US-based maintenance and completion company Savannah Air Center (SAC).

“The acquisition of SAC supports Jet Aviation’s strategic objective of expanding its global services network,” said Peter G. Edwards, CEO of the Jet Aviation Group, adding “SAC’s excellent reputation, skilled workforce and state-of-the-art facilities make it a good fit for the Jet Aviation family of companies.”

For Jim Ziegler, Jet Aviation’s COO for the Americas, this acquisition is a much needed expansion of the company’s operations in North America. “This will give us the capacity to support our growing maintenance and completions business while broadening our geographic reach here in the U.S.”

Savannah Air Center will be integrated into Jet Aviation’s maintenance and completions organization in the U.S. with locations in Boston/Bedford, Chicago, Palm Beach, St. Louis and Teterboro operated by Midcoast Aviation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Jet Aviation Group of Companies. SAC will retain its name and will continue to operate with a consistent team in place under the leadership of the company’s CEO Jeff Zacharius, who now will report directly to Kurt Sutterer, president of Midcoast Aviation.
